It hasn't turned out to be a good couple of months for Jordin Sparks. First, at the beginning of June, the official video for the album's self-titled debut track, 'Battlefield', was leaked onto the internet. Then only days after the single debuted on the radio, several demo versions of songs on the record leaked online. THEN at the beginning of July, a full three weeks before it's scheduled release, another two tracks leaked, this time in the form of completed, album versions of the songs 'Walking On Snow' and 'Emergency'.
Apparently the July leak was too much for Little Miss. Sparks to take, as she lashed out through Twitter posts, at the music journalists receiving advance promo copies of the album, blaming them for the leak.
She wrote;
"Is SO angry right now. We give you promo copies for you to listen to. NOT to post all over the Internet. Jerks. >:O"
Well poor Jordin is probably tweeting her fans to death today, as the entire album has leaked, a full week ahead of its release date. And not only is it the new album... It's the Deluxe Edition which includes 2 extra tracks.

As a fan of Jordin Sparks, I have enoyed her since her days on IDOL back in 2007. Her debut album may have been a little teeny bopper for my liking, but "Tatoo" was awesome and had some great remixes by big names like "Jason Neins." The current single "Battlefield" is FIERCE ! (Ok, the video was kinda lame and had the potential for some images) but the song rocks without even a remix. I think Miss Sparks needs to exoress her anger through her PR reps, she's only what 19 ? 20 ? Of course she's gonna react like a kid when she get's bad news.
ReplyDeleteAs for the advance copies sent as promos to DJ's, this is common for every artist out there... my thought is, someone is not doing a good enough job to keep them from being leaked. When Britney or Madonna's new songs are leaked they get pulled and the cd's release date get's pushed. Jordins needs a better marketing/PR/everything team behind her is she's to go further this year !
