LISTEN + PLAY : Mass Effect Showcases Amazing Canadian Indie Music Talent
From the closing credits of one of highest selling video game titles of all time, Mass Effect. Developed by Canadian game studio, Bioware (whose Edmonton, Alberta headquarters were also responsible for last years RPG of the year, Dragon Age Origins), Mass Effect's soundtrack received many accolades upon it's 2007 release. These included a 'Best Original Score' award from IGN.com and gamespy.com's 'Best Soundtrack' trophy at E3 '07.
Primarily written by game composers Sam Hulick and Jack Wall (the later who is probably most well known for his ambient and extremely atmospheric work on the final 3 Myst titles after Robyn Miller left the project following Riven's completion and Cyan Studios subsequent sale to Ubisoft in 1998), the closing track was written and performed by Edmonton Indie Band 'Faunts'.
